Born in Lumsden, Saskatchewan in 1905, Buck Kerr became a shining example of the quintessentially ‘Prairie’ native son. He drew in charcoal and ink, and painted in acrylic, oil and watercolour.
He wrote and illustrated short stories, illustrated others’ work, and instructed at various schools of art in British Columbia and Alberta.
Named to the Order of Canada in 1983, Buck passed away in Calgary at the age of 89.
