In what seems right now to be a timely story, Mr. Waiser recounts some of the harshest of winters on record. As a side note, I remember hearing a story of farmers, anxious to get trains moving in the spring, getting together and shovelling the tracks out from Lanigan to Lumsden (close to 100 miles). No sooner had they finished but another blizzard hit and buried the tracks again. This time, they let Mother Nature look after it.
