Snow planes held, briefly, a place in the evolution of winter prairie transportation. For more than 20 years, they sped over snow-packed roads and lakes. Only when roads, vehicles and snowplows improved did they fade into history. As with most fads, a nostalgic group of fans have kept some of these odd machines running.
