Just to add to the crazy, eclectic collection of stories on my blog, I’m going to feature Harper Lee.
I didn’t read ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ until just a few years ago. I have to admit, it is a great novel, and I couldn’t wait to read ‘Go Set a Watchman’ (once I got past the price). Supposedly (speculatively?), Watchman was the original novel and someone convinced her to re-write it to make the character Scout (Jean Louise Finch) a child.
Harper Lee really is an enigma. Childhood friend and collaborator of Truman Capote, it seems she was content to let ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ speak for her writing talent. Read more about Harper Lee here.
