Today, I had occasion to visit the basement ‘mall’ in Saskatoon’s Drinkle Building on Third Avenue. I had never been in the building before, but found it rather quaint. Little shops flank the single hallway — goldsmiths, watchmakers, Filipino food store, oriental knick-knacks, hair salon and more. Quite unique.
I had seen the name Drinkle before, but never knew anything about him. Here is the expo dedicated to the man who built the building over a hundred years ago:
